Brooke Bowersock and Celebrating the Spirit of Gathering (Part 3)

Hi there, I’m Brooke and for the past few weeks, I’ve taken over Ready.Aim.Empire to celebrate all things Pilates and speak to some of the leading experts in the industry.

This week marks the end of my little three episode series.

And boy, are we ending with a good one!

Over the past three episodes, I’ve been asking these incredible Pilates instructors and studio owners about what the word ‘gathering’ means to them.

We’ve had some incredible answers, from seeing the word as an opportunity to connect with old friends and colleagues to viewing it as a way to cleanse the body and soul after a rough year.

Today’s episode features one of my favorite interpretations of the word yet.

Rebekah Rotstein, the founder of Buff Bones, likens the word to a quilt – something seamless, beautiful, and warm created by the coming together of different things

My other guest Raelea Saxton, who recently opened her own pilates studio in Sacramento, wholeheartedly agrees and adds that it’s a way for her to learn from her peers and constantly improve upon her craft.

These definitions inspired me as I prep for The ALIGN Pilates Summit – the first in-person gathering I’ve ever organized! Speaking to my colleagues has made me realize that I’ve been working my whole life towards helping people gather again, even if I didn’t know it.

So today, I’d love for you to put your headphones on and celebrate gathering with Rebekah, Raelea, and myself. Let’s never take this word for granted again.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • What the meaning of “gathering” is at this point of time
  • Thoughts on moving during a pandemic
  • How pivoting during the pandemic dramatically changed the mindsets of instructors and studio owners around the world
  • What to do to take the time for yourself in a constantly-changing environment
  • Gaining a new perspective on the lessons to bring forward after the pandemic

With grit and gratitude,

Lisé
