Podcast Episode 120: Meet Anula Maiberg, Co-Owner of 6th Street Pilates, Who’s Bringing Pilates into the Wierdly, Wild Modern Era

My girlfriend wrote me about Anula some time back and described her as described her as “my cup of tea”…

Artsy…

Innovative..

And,  {dare I say it} a total badass.

This was confirmed when I hopped on her Instagram and fell in love with vignettes of Pilates movements in 30’s era tea dresses against walls crawling with vintage wisteria…

And, her collections of Morgan Fairchild, in full lycra-clad glory, Jennifer Grey {blessedly with her original nose}, and every other curated memory of that takes me back to my neon colored 80’s childhood.

In a world where many Pilates instructors have chosen to blend in, as though this was a silent part of training {that a select few of us must have missed}, she’s taking a leap forward and gaining a serious following in the process.

Join us as we chat:

  • The secret to getting more hours back in your day
  • How every leap forward will reveal more steps you didn’t know were there
  • Anula’s simple social media strategy – and why it’s not just about getting followers
  • There’s a bigger discussion going on about body image, and this guest is happy to be a mouthpiece of bravery for the female form
  • What the #normcore hashtag is all about!
  • Why we shouldn’t be shameful to explore our body’s movement
  • There’s room for everyone in pilates – with classical and non-classical movements
  • How Anula transitioned from employee to co-owner of the studio
  • The simple agreement she has with all of her clients
  • How she came to learn that as adults, not everyone is going to like us (and that’s ok)…
