Podcast Episode 166: Meet Robin Truxel, the Owner of Tru Pilates {My Home Studio} and Founder of Strong Mama

Some things just happen for a reason… like meeting Robin Truxel.

When I moved to Charlottesville for the first time, almost seven years ago, I had been living without a quality Pilates instructor for almost eighteen months. Outside of an hour and a half long drive, I had NO instructors near me certified in equipment, and able to help me through the post-partum period, post-Remy.

So when I got to Charlottesville and started hearing rumors of a Pilates instructor with a physical therapy background {thank you Ellie Tor for also showing us what that looked like in your first classes with Dan and I}, I booked myself into literally every available opening she had on her calendar.

Dan called it desperately seeking Robin, but I called it, I couldn’t get enough!  My body changed.  My strength grew in ways it never had. And, my confidence post-baby, well, let’s just say that I sometimes get a little teary eyed when I consider where Robin brought me too.

To call her a brilliant instructor in C-Ville is like saying the sun is bright… it’s just that obvious, but as I’ve watched Robin develop an incredible, comprehensive in-studio program for momma’s…

With programs as inventive as collaborating with local chefs on 40 days of nourishing meals, pelvic floor therapy trainings with local PT’s for her staff of ten strong, and an ever transitioning repertoire, for an ever transitioning pregnant body…

Well, let’s just say, this was a conversation, I thought you might want to listen in on.

In today’s episode you’ll learn:

  • Diet changes that are recommended during pregnancy {and how they can
    help with several symptoms}
  • How you can improve your mood using both a scientific and natural
    approach
  • Pre-natal and post-partum exercises you can do and what to be mindful for
    during pregnancy to avoid physical and posture problems down the road
  • Things to do the first 30 to 40 days after birth…

With grit + gratitude,

Lisé
