Do you ever just wish you could rush through those times in life where things aren’t always going according to plan?

I know that’s been a struggle for me.

But this year, I’ve decided to look at them with a new lens.

It’s a mindset shift I’ve found myself recently going through as I was hitting some low points in my life.

I’ve come to grips with the fact that low points are inevitable.

I used to dread them. I spent my life trying to just go from high point to high point. I was all about dragging myself through those low points as quickly as possible.

Part of it is because I don’t like to wallow. And part of it is because I genuinely think I’m afraid of what I will find out about myself in those deep dark down times.

    Anyone relate?

I might be the only person, but I suspect that this is something that’s more widespread than I probably give it credit.

It’s so hard to find yourself hitting the low point and just think –

How long do we have to sit there?

How long do we have to deal with the consequences?

How long do I have to deal with circumstances that have been thrust upon us completely outside any action of our own?

I’m going to share a quote from my friend Gabe – “The low points in life often determine our greatest purpose.”

There’s so much truth to that and I’m going to discuss all the things I’ve learned from that perspective of my hardest times in life.

Listen into Episode 097 and you’ll learn:

    • Why I was trying to survive the low points, instead of thriving in them
    • The ways my grandmother taught me to how to embrace the fear
    • How the dark times will make me a better mother and grandmother
    • I know I am able to serve the world better because of my low experiences
