Meet Studio Grow, Our New Brand, and See Just Why It Was Time To Make This Shift

We talk a lot about business here on Ready. Aim. Empire.

Systems, operations, business models, marketing, finances…

We cover pretty much every facet of running a wellness and mindbody studio you can imagine based on my experiences owning a studio, the experiences and stories of other studio owners across the globe, some of which include my incredible students who have gone through my signature program, The Client Cure.

But my experience as a business consultant, funny enough, didn’t start in fitness and wellness, nope, it began with my tailor!

You’ll have to listen to the episode to hear the story, but that’s where it starts.

And in today’s episode, you’ll hear about how we’ve grown past that first little consulting gig into the business we are today, which, I’m so excited to announce, has a new brand identity!

Today I’m introducing you to Studio Grow, how we came to be, where we’re at now, and where we’re going next.

Things you’ll learn in this episode:

  • What lead me to start a small consulting business and how it evolved with time
  • Why we decided that my business needed a shift and how one of those shifts included a new name of our business
  • Why it took a year to launch new branding and website
  • A look forward to meeting my staff in the upcoming weeks!

Meet Brooke Bowersock, the Founder of Align Studios} and See How She’s Bridging the Gap Between Pilates and Other Movement Modalities

Owning a studio inherently makes you a business owner, yes.

But an entrepreneur? Not necessarily…

See, an entrepreneur has slightly different tendencies.

The way they think of operating their businesses involves more systems, more team members and less of themselves.

Screen Shot 2018-09-26 at 3.22.35 PMI know what you’re thinking, “This is my passion, there’s no way I can take myself out of my business!” Your love for your modality runs deep. I get it…

It’s rare to find a studio owner who didn’t first fall in love with their paradigm before the idea of owning a business set in. And there’s nothing wrong with that, I’m a firm believer that you can’t have profits without passion.

But what brings an even bigger payday is an exit strategy, and it’s entrepreneurs who think of exit strategies.

My guest on today’s episode may have started as many studio owners do (with a passion and a purpose), but you better believe Brooke Bowersock is cut out to be an entrepreneur.

During our chat, you’ll hear about her journey and how she built her first studio to empire proportions, sold it, and how she’s building her second studio with a unique membership model and the same entrepreneurial spirit that made her first studio thrive.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • The reason Brooke made the decision to sell her thriving business and how she planned her exit strategy
  • The opportunities that Brooke identified and influenced her decision to branch out from just Pilates
  • Why she supports her trainers on their path to find their own unique set of skills and the benefit of hiring instructors who will work to build community
  • What Brooke says is the hardest part of building a business and how she embraces it

Niches Build Riches – 3 Ways to Use Niches to Dominate your Market

Enough.

Boy, how much weight that word holds for business owners.

Do we have enough of what it takes to succeed?

Will there be enough people who want what we have to offer?

Are we good enough to draw our ideal clients in and are we good enough to keep them?

What’s funny is that the most successful studios I’ve encountered aren’t worried about enough despite being so narrowly focused that they’ve effectively cut out the vast majority of their “available market.”

That’s because they understand that the riches are in the niches.

Why focus on trying to be everything to everyone with so-so results when you could be spectacular in one specialty geared toward a highly specific subset of people who will flock to you because you’re the experts?

You don’t need to be everything to be enough.

You just need to be exceptional at providing solutions to one thing that your ideal clients need the most help with, and that’s more than enough.

In this episode, I’m sharing the top five niches currently making waves in the wellness studio world and how you can begin to think about your own decisions of cutting out the excess to make room for more revenue and freedom.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • What it means to be niche and to create a niche within a niche
  • What narrowing down to a very specific market can do for your business
  • Why so many of us often resist niching down and how it’s holding you back
  • The niches we’re noticing and the incredibly successful businesses being built within them

Finding Your Focus and Building Systems That Set You Free with Jacob Andreae

Anyone who’s ever had a goal or a dream knows that although the recipes for success vary from person to person, focus is undeniably an ingredient that everyone needs to possess to reach the proverbial finish line.

Yet, focus is often one of the toughest ingredients come by as you navigate your way through all the questions that inevitably come with building a business.

Questions like…

Who do I want to serve?

How can I best help them?

What is my gift to share?

Why this? Why now?

Screen Shot 2018-09-19 at 4.02.11 PMBut with laser-focus, all the answers become crystal clear, and so does the path for how you’ll achieve your next level of success.

No one knows this concept better than my guest on today’s episode, Jacob Andreae.

His recipe for success is undoubtedly a unique one with forays in education (not fitness education… classroom education) and psychology, but once he found his focus that zeroed in and pinpointed his ideal audience and exactly what it is they wanted from him, well, in a word, he’s become unstoppable.

Now with a booming boot camp and personal training business based around his signature 10 in 10 Challenge, Jacob has the freedom to not just truly enjoy his work and make an impact for his clients, but take ample time off to enjoy his life and family, and focus on the next phase of building his empire (the world of digital programs).

Empires are built with a foundation of focus, Jacob’s story will show you how to find it.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • How Jacob got started his journey in fitness and business, his transition out of a teaching career, and why it’s never too late to pursue a different passion
  • The way he incorporates goal-based challenges to get results like no one else for his clients
  • What he’s realized about his clients’ motivation through intense audience listening and how he’s seen his clientele change over time
  • The significant role of practice and repetition in building systems and a successful business
  • Why you need to not only love what you do but also how you’re doing it (and realize that you’re building your business for your clients, not just for you)
  • What to focus on if you want to build a successful company, and the impact The Client Cure has made in Jacob’s success as he grows his dream business
  • The pros and cons of an “in person” business versus an online model
