How to Make Sure You Grow in 2021 (Part 1)

Back in March, we hosted a little something called ‘1 Year Out.. Studio Grow’s Spring 2021 Predict-A-Thon’.

The Predict-A-Thon was a chance for me to share our battle-tested insights developed from trying to give studios a fighting chance in 2020, right from when COVID first struck our clients in Asia.

For five days a week from March 15th – 19th, I went live and shared ONE prediction for the upcoming year in boutique fitness – everything from revenue and profit trends to branding models.

And ALL of that is coming to Ready.Aim.Empire!

That’s right y’all, for the next three weeks, I’ll be bringing all of my Predict-A-Thon nuggets of wisdom so you can work on building your studio for an incredible 2021!

In this episode, I talk about WHY 2021 is the year of growth and freedom (especially after those insane 80-hour workweeks we had in 2020) and the groundwork you need to set for your studio to access that growth.

I also go into the importance of segmentation (and how we made $700,000 in new member revenue for one of our clients just through internal segmentation) and why you should be taking it more seriously in 2021.

This is the start of a series that’s really so full of tips, tricks, and strategies to make 2021 your best year ever.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • What 2020 taught us about business and the importance of planning as we move forward
  • Why you need to build a path for success in order to have the best shot at achieving results
  • The lessons that I’ve learned from past events such as Hurricane Katrina and the economic crisis of 2008
  • How segmented-based automated marketing will be crucial for studio owners over the next few years
  • What you need to do right now to implement a strategy that targets segments of your clientele

With grit and gratitude,

Lisé

Jane DO and the Importance of Community

If the pandemic has shown us anything, it’s that all of us are desperately looking for a way to connect with the people around us.

The popularity of monthly coffee meet-ups, virtual happy hours, and Zoom reunions has only proven that when we feel isolated, we dive headfirst into searching for our tribe.

And if your studio can provide your clients with that?

Well, there’s no stopping you!

Because let’s face it, clients can take a break from working out, they can justify stepping back from a class or two.

But, they’ll never feel like stepping away from their tribe, especially not in 2021.

So, the aim for every facet of your studio, be it in-person or virtual, should be to forge real relationships with your clients and provide them with a community that they can never step out of.

And today’s guests, Jacey Lambrose and Danielle DeAngelo of Jane DO, have perfected that art.

Continuing our chat from last week, Jacey and Danielle discuss the importance of building a tribe (and share how they’ve managed to do it), talk about their plans for their digital studio, discuss the ins and outs of creating a fitness app, and plan for world domination!

This is an episode you don’t want to miss if fostering and developing a community is on top of your agenda.

In this episode, you will learn:

  • The process Jacey and Danielle used to plan and introduce the digital component of their business to clients
  • Why they chose to build their own app {and how they did it}
  • Their strategies for creating a cohesive experience with in-studio clients, those who use the app and those who livestream
  • The importance of maintaining a strong human connection when using a digital strategy
  • What to do and what not to do when you make a mistake

With grit and gratitude,

Lisé

Jane DO and Fitness that Empowers

When you log into Jane DO’s website, you’re instantly greeted with picture after picture of powerful women looking like they’re having the time of their lives.

They look confident, happy, and the definition of strong.

And according to stories from my team, walking into their studio makes you feel every one of those things too.

So, I began stalking Jane DO’s founders Jacey Lambrose and Danielle DeAngelo, just to learn how they manage to create such a powerful experience for every woman who steps into their studio.

Ex-Radio City Rockettes Jacey and Danielle opened Jane DO in February 2015 with a goal of combining athleticism with their love for dance.

And in today’s episode, they’re talking ALL about the importance of hard work in building their boutique fitness vision, how they learned to pivot all the way back in 2015, why Jane DO was able to retain the majority of their clientele in the pandemic, and much more!

This episode is a must-listen if you want to know how you can shape your studio into becoming a hub for an organic community and how you can make every single client feel like they’re part of a movement.

So listen in!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How Jacey and Danielle met and then formed their unique concept of Jane DO
  • The challenges they faced opening their locations, and why they said these hurdles actually benefited them in the end
  • The reasons they prefer to be self-funded through hard work and determination
  • The way they structure the customer experience at Jane DO
  • What their mindset has been during the pandemic, and how they were able to quickly pivot to an online model as soon as it hit in 2020
  • How they kept their community strong as the business continued to grow

With grit and gratitude,

Lisé

Muneeza Ahmed and What You Need to Know About Viruses

Everywhere we look, there are articles upon articles on how to protect yourself against viruses.

Turmeric, hot water, green tea and a million other home remedies pop up on our screen and our Instagram feeds almost daily.

But, in moving directly to the cure, we often forget to ask ourselves the important question:

How do you know if you’ve been infected by a virus?

In today’s episode, Muneeza Ahmed is back with us to speak about everything viruses, how we can identify a viral infection and how it can affect everything, from postpartum fatigue to menstruation.

Muneeza also talks about why weight should never be a benchmark for health, why adrenals are so incredibly important, what studio owners should keep in mind when their clients request high intensity workouts, and more!

This episode was a chance for Muneeza and me to discuss things that are rarely ever discussed in our community, especially by women. Some of it might be hard to hear, but I sincerely hope you give this episode a listen because it has some truths that we should hear, process, and start implementing ASAP to become the healthiest versions of ourselves!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Muneeza’s thoughts on how viruses are linked to the health issues people experience
  • What virus category that tends to hurt us the most and the way that stress affects the body
  • Her advice to movement practitioners when it comes to intensity of exercise
  • Why women often have more energy-related problems than men do
  • The important link between our health and adrenals, and her best adrenal health tips

With grit and gratitude,

Lisé
