The Ultimate 2020 Black Friday Strategy

Y’all, this episode is a big one.

And full disclosure, we’ve been planning it since August of this year.

In today’s episode, we’re talking all things Black Friday!

With everything that’s happened, it’s obvious that traditional Black Friday plans just ain’t gonna cut it.

BUT that doesn’t mean Black Friday is a lost cause all together.

Far from it.

At Team Studio Grow, we began brainstorming our own Black Friday and Cyber Monday plans and invited some of the industry’s top marketing executives to come take a peek at what we’re doing.

And we compiled all of their advice, our ideas, and a healthy dose of market research to create the ultimate Black Friday strategy.

Today, I’ll be sharing all of it with you – from social media plans, to the three types of offers that you should be marketing for Black Friday and so much more!

With all of it in your arsenal, we truly believe Black Friday can be one of your best sales days in a looong time!

We also have a Black Friday download that has everything I speak about today in a written, calendar-based format and I strongly recommend that you check it out!

Until then, make sure you’ve grabbed your pens, put your headphones in, and are ready to take in all the information in this episode!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • Why this year has the potential to be the biggest Black Friday event ever
  • What Black Friday this year looks like for Studio Grow
  • What to do if you don’t have retail products to promote for Black Friday
  • A few scalable virtual and retail offer ideas
  • A brief overview of our free Black Friday resource, and what social media and email strategy you can implement along with it

With grit & gratitude,

Lisé

Julie Love Gagen and Healing Through Movement

To move is to heal.

Whenever life gets unpredictable, overwhelming, and plain loud, movement is always there for you to come back to, be it on a mat, barre, or a reformer.

No one understands that better than Julie Love Gagen, the owner and CEO of Be The Love Yoga.

Julie’s life has been filled with ups and downs.

And during all her lows, the yoga mat was her safe space – somewhere she would always find herself despite life’s uncertainties.

So, when she opened her own yoga studio, creating that safe space for her community was the top priority.

After all, healing is doubly effective when you get to share it.

That’s a major reason why Be The Love continues to thrive even amidst the onset of COVID-19 and through multiple lockdowns and quarantines. Julie has truly created (and maintained) a space where people can come together, leave the outside world at the door, and just move.

The other reason is that Julie is the queen of pivots.

The way she’s managed to take her studio online and her loving, open communication streams with her clients throughout 2020 is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

In today’s episode, join guest host and The Client Cure coach Christina Wolf as she chats with Julie about her beginnings in yoga, why communication matters so much to her, how pivoting was a no-brainer, and much more!

When we’re in alignment with our passion and our purpose, it’s a win-win for everybody.

And Julie is the perfect example of that.

So, grab your headphones, listen in, and be prepared to be inspired!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How Julie’s love for yoga came to be, and helped her get through some of the toughest hardships in her life
  • What inspired her to join The Client Cure program, plus how her business was able to grow from being in the program
  • The changes Julie had to make in her business once she started to really look at her numbers
  • The role that communication played for her while navigating the COVID-19 lockdown, and the way she was able to pivot her business so quickly when the pandemic hit
  • What Julie envisions for the future of her studio (and the yoga studio industry in general)
  • Why she is switching to a member-only hybrid studio and what this transition will look like

Cyndi Lee and the Transformative Power of Yoga (Part 2)

Hey y’all and welcome back to Part 2 of my chat with the wonderful (and incredibly inspiring) Cyndi Lee!

Last week, Cyndi shared her simple beginnings in yoga, the story behind the opening of her very first studio, the relationship between yoga and the body and MUCH more.

I also said last week that Cyndi radiated joy and love for yoga that I’d never seen before, and that the conversation we had was one of my favorites on Ready.Aim.Empire.

Well, today is no different.

In today’s episode, Cyndi talks about the story behind her first book, Yoga Body, Buddha Mind that she published in 2000, two years after she opened Om Yoga in 1998. She also talks about her approach to facing challenges, the importance of recognizing when it’s time to move on, and integrating Buddhism principles in yoga and teacher training programs!

Cyndi’s wisdom as well as her insistence on looking inwards and loving yourself is so important in these times. And I’m sure all of you will be just as inspired by her message as I was!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How to intertwine Yoga and Buddhism to embody the best of both practices
  • The difficult decision faced by those in the industry, and how Cyndi chose to react
  • The way Cyndi managed to travel for teacher trainings while having a large studio, and what this ultimately revealed for her about her business
  • Engaged Buddhism in teacher training programs, and so much!

With grit & gratitude,

Lisé

Cyndi Lee and The Transformative Power of Yoga (Part 1)

When I sat down with my team to discuss teachers who’ve inspired, motivated, and made an impact in their lives, Cyndi Lee’s name always came up.

Cyndi is the founder of Om Yoga, author of Yoga Body, Buddha Mind and May I Be Happy, and the creator of some of the most dynamic teacher training programs and courses I’ve ever come across in the industry.

And while chatting with her for today’s episode, I understood why.

Cyndi has the passion of a teacher – someone who sees yoga for all the incredible things it can do, how it can connect people, how it can open a range of potential in your life…

And above all, how it can be fun.

In today’s episode, Cyndi and I go back to how she fell in love with yoga (spoiler alert: her beginnings were simple, just like mine!), what led her to teaching, and how yoga helped her with creating a healthier relationship with her body.

Be it her story about opening her studio in 1998 NYC (with just $800, a dial up phone, and a printer), or her candid thoughts on body image, Cyndi’s love for yoga is laced through every word, which made this one of the warmest, most inspiring conversations I’ve ever had.

And y’all, this is just part one of our chat so stay tuned for more!

In this episode, you will learn:

  • How Yoga first became a calling and part of her life, and then led to a successful career in the field
  • Why her “different” teaching style and approach resonates with so many people
  • The relationship we all have with our bodies, and where yoga comes into play with this
  • Challenges that were overcome in order to open her first studio in New York City
  • The advantages smaller studios will have post-pandemic

Lisé
